In 1967, James Barnor photographed BBC Africa Service presenter Mike Eghan standing against the backdrop of Piccadilly Circus’ neon signs. Over half a decade later, CIRCA and Serpentine invited Ferdinando Verderi, Creative Director of Vogue Italia, to revisit this iconic setting with fashion model Adwoa Aboah and photograph James Barnor’s first ever cover for Vogue:

“The biggest contribution I could provide to James’ career was allowing the new generation to understand James’ relevance to the history of photography by creating something which wasn’t just new but it was sort of an interpretation of his past.”

- Ferdinando Verderi

‘James Barnor, Vogue Italia, circa 2021’ has been created especially in support of the #CIRCAECONOMY. Available for one month only (1-31 April 2021).

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

DELIVERY

Although we endeavour to deliver the prints as soon as possible, please note that due to the process involved, they may take between 1-2 months to arrive in the post. To guarantee each print arrives in perfect condition, they are carefully wrapped in tissue paper, hand packaged in a heavy duty cardboard wrap and delivered with a tracking number. This is reflected in the shipping fee at checkout.

INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING

If your delivery address is not within the United Kingdom, you may be subject to import duties, taxes and delivery service charges, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any such additional charges for customs clearance must be borne by you.
